Architect Graeme Gunn explores his ideas for grouping houses together, aggregating communal land, and the success of his Merchant Builders venture. Winter Park, Melbourne was Graeme's first cluster housing project. Completed in 1971 the development is now on the Heritage Victoria list, and exemplifies his ideas about efficient use of land. Also discussed in the programme is Graham's famous building for the Gasfitters and Plumbers Union at 52 Victoria Street Melbourne. Its Brutalist form caused consternation amongst some when it was built in 1970. His poor origins and rise into academia complete this fascinating discussion.
